This DADU project expanded on an existing detached garage structure, located on the owners rental property, directly across the street from their own home. They needed a taller garage to house their new Mercedes sprinter van, and they also wanted to create a new rental unit for their property. The interior walls and ceiling of the existing garage was sheathed in marvelous old growth vertical grain Douglas Fir boards that were milled in the early years of the 20th century. All of that was carefully removed from the walls, and saved for re-installation within the new 2 story DADU unit. This project was completed in the Spring of 2021.
